I have a new slogan to put on my handbags.
>Bombing for peace is like having sex so you could keep your virginity.
Cool, huh?
Well, other than that,
My friends Lauren and Michelle and I are planning the most awesome-possum thirteenth bday party for me ever. We're going to have soy cheese pizza, soda (to get tabs), and starburst (for wrappers). We're going to dance to 80's protest songs and the Beatles (with a disco ball, in my living room), watch Shirley Temple movies, and recreate clothes and knit. We're inviting my other friends Molly, Emma, and Zoe. It's gonna be SOOOOOOOO much fun!!!!!!!! It's sort of like, a party of the decades. It was hard tho, because I'm only inviting people from the pool, even tho I have tons of friends in different schools, and from camps, and different Johns Hopkins GT Program events (like Eleanore? (BerrytheBird18))
Oh, why I am collecting tabs and Starburst wrappers, you may ask? Well, I make handbags out of them. I don't have pictures of any of them yet, but I will soon (I hope).
Here are the basic steps, just to clear up any questions. (If you still have questions, leave a comment):
>I collect non-wool sweaters and unravel them
>My friends and I eat Starburst and drink soda, and keep the tabs and wrappers. My friends give them to me, and I then put the wrappers in a Trader Joe's bag on my bedroom floor next to my (recycled plastic) desk, and the tabs in a Pirouette can I found in the creek near my house (Northwest Branch Park, not Sligo Creek, for any Maryland dwellers) that I keep on my desk (the can, not the creek).
>I go buy water-soluble paper, use it to sew the wrappers together.
>Use a paper clip to poke a two holes through both sides of both sides of the purse.
>I weave the yarn through tabs and seal it at the other end.
In case that wasn't clear, I hope I'll have enough supplies to do that by the party time, so I can make one and take pictures for you guys.
On an even different note, I'm having fun with Habitat for Humanity; my friend Megan and I are going to take part in their "recreate art" contest. We're having a "bake" sale to raise money for the supplies we need (in the contest rules-check the website), in which we are going to serve house-shaped cookies, organic lemonade, and----- GIMME A B! (B), GIMME AN A! (A), GIMME AN N! (N), GIMME AN A! (A), GIMME ANOTHER N! (N), GIMME ANOTHER A! (A)!!!!- WHAT'S THAT SPELL YOU? MEGAN'S {ALMOST} FAMOUS BANANA BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hell yeah!!!!!!!!!
Also for Habitat: they, in their conscientious work to be ecologically friendly, are holding blue jean drives to collect jeans to use as insulation for another project (again-check the website). I'm setting up bins at my pool, and I think that some other people should help them too.
Well I'm far past my bedtime-GreenGirl8165 (aka Lizzi)
Hey guys!
Why my life is just that boring:
- I got out of school on Tuesday at noon, but the public school peoples don't get out for another week, so the pool opens 3:30 pm each day.
- My dad is so protective of me that I'm not allowed to leave the house during the day while he's at work which he has to be at pretty much all the time.
- We might have found a good home for my crazy uncontrollable dog, which is great, but it means I can't play with my baby during the day cause I ain't allowed to cross University (which, for people who don't live in my hood, is the a very wide, very busy and therefore equally as dangerous street dividing my neighbourhood in half.)
- My dad won't let me play with matches, so I can't light any of the incense Donna bought me at Beadazzled when we stopped there on Tuesday cause she had to make the deposit so her daughter could go to Spain. (Donna works w/ my dad in a rad law firm in Washington, D.C.)(it's only as rad a law firm can get. i mean, it's a law firm.)
- And that's pretty much it.
Ltr peoples! I hope your lives have been much more interesting and more eventful than mine.
Peace, love, and Ashlee Simpson,

Today I took The Green Quiz on Sundance. My results:
The tree planting went well. My dad later sent out an extremely touching and sincere but freakishly long letter to everyone who came. The digging was fun. Dad and I even got to pick out the tree. It hasn't bloomed yet, so we won't know what colors its flowers are for a little while, but it is in full bloom, I pinkie swear I'll take some pictures for you guys.
Peace, love, and goodness,

This Saturday, May 17, my father, me, and some people from our pool, Forest Knolls, in Silver Spring, MD, are planting a Crepe Myrtle tree in front of our pool in honor of my mother. She died last year on September 21, and she cared about global warming very much and thought Crepe Myrtle trees are very beautiful and that there should be more of them.
In case you missed it (yeah right), there’s a Battle of the Divas going on in the media right now. Mothra Madonna is evidently trying to throw down with Mariah Carey to see who’s the most popular. Which means that it’s time to either take sides or get out of the way … and I want to take this opportunity to officially throw the weight of the world’s largest animal rights organization (that’s us) behind our girl Mariah, with whom—to use the immortal words of Ol’ Dirty Bastard (RIP)—we go back like babies and pacifiers. Here’s my (and PETA's) argument for why Mariah blows Madonna out of the water in this competition:
- When a Russian tycoon gave Mariah Carey a pair of outrageously expensive fur coats in a misguided attempt to show her what a big fan he was, she immediately donated the coats to PETA for us to give to the homeless. Roughly around the same time, Madonna was photographed trouncing around London in about $70,000 worth of dead chinchillas.
- A whole lot more people are buying Mariah’s new album than are buying Madonna’s. Which kind of settles it, just in case my first point didn’t do the trick for you.
3. Mariah supports Barack Obama, whereas Madonna endorses Hillary.
So there you have it. The forces of good prevail, while the groovy soundtrack of “Touch My Body” plays in the background. If you know of any other Diva competitions that need a’refereeing, just let me know. I’m always happy to help out.

I know many of you do not know me, but I would like to ask a favor of anyone who will. Because this month is World Vegan/Vegetarian Month, I would like you all *(people under eighteen living with your parents MUST get their approval) to go vegetarian (or vegan, if you're daring or passionate) for at least the month of May. If you're an adult, you can sign up just yourself or even your family. It's a wonderful thing to do for your health and the health of all of the elemnts of nature. Many brand-name stores have vegetarian and vegan foods, mostly Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Even Giant and Safeway offer options. If you are going to try veganism, I strongly recommend trying to find the nearest MOM'S near your home. For those who live in a dark cave, MOM'S means My Organic Market. Also, these are some really awesome websites to go to for help:
